Landakot Catholic Church, Reykjavik, Iceland. About 400meters uphill from the Reykjavik Centrum Hotel (highly recommended!). Shot on my Canon T3i–20mm, f/4.5, ISO 100, 1/250 Harpa Concert Hall…informally referred to on our trip as the Opera House. Perched overlooking the Northern Atlantic Ocean-it’s a stunning facade on the edge of the city. Extra treat: Lit up at night with varying LED displays. Canon T3i, Sigma 11mm, ISO 100, f/5, 1/80 Solfar Sun Voyager Sculpture overlooking the Northern Atlantic Ocean in Reykjavik, Iceland. Designed by Jon Gunnar Arnason. Travel photography notes: If you can only bring two lens, a wide angle and a telephoto are a must. I kept a polarizer on all my lens, although for the brightest of snow shots, ND would have been beneficial. ***No filters for Northern Lights photos*** Remember in 30 degree weather and Arctic wind, outdoor lens/filter changes are kind of miserable. #Frostbite Canon T3i, 55mm, ISO 100, f/5, 1/100 Reykjavik city streets. Iceland population hoovers around 320,000 while annual tourist visits pushes 800,000. This means travel and transportation within the city is phenomenally simplified. The bus terminal at KEF has convenient bus ticket kiosks and Flybus+ (a.k.a. Reykjavik Excursions ((same company))) leave for the city center a few times an hour. The bus terminal in the city center is within walking distance of most hotels–and door-to-door shuttle service is available for an extra 500ISK (1900 ISK vs. 2400 ISK). Canon T3i, 194mm, ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/100 Hallgrimskirkja Church interior. Admission into the church is free (although if church is in session you can only visit the vestibule). Admission into the Church tower is 700 ISK–well worth it! Gives panoramic views of the entire city through a series of 12 windows. Again–the wind eight stories up is BLISTERING–but views are well worth it. Canon T3i, 10mm, ISO 800, f/3.5, 1/60Reykjavik is nice–if you like graffiti. Or more appropriately Street Art. Cool little nuggets like this are plastered on every wall and around every corner. Makes for some very fun photo-hunts. Canon T3i, 100mm, ISO 400, f/6.3, 1/200 Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavik. Canon T3i, 15mm, ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/80 Faux tilt-shift completed in Photoshop. Gradient map and Lens Blur. Canon T3i, 250mm, ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/60 Reykjavik recommended: The night life :) No major international incidents to report. Canon T3i, 55mm, ISO 100, f/5, 1/125 Detail enhanced in Photoshop. Selective Color Mixer to warm up highlights and shadows. Canon T3i, 55mm, ISO 100, f/4, 1/100
